Objectives

The charitable and educational objectives of Manos Juntas include several immediate goals and objectives. We are not limited to these objectives but feel they are important beacons to guide us in our programs.

	Coordinate mission trips to Central America
	Provide an outlet for distribution of handicrafts from Central America
	Operate a medical clinic at Epworth Methodist Church which will furnish care at no cost to the needy
	Serve as a vehicle for collection and distribution of clothing, medical supplies, and pharmaceutical supplies to the needy
	Promote understanding among people who are diverse in ethnic, economic, and cultural background
	Develop and sponsor educational opportunities for talented and deserving students in order to allow full development of potential of these students
	Encourage employment opportunities among the needy

Specific things which we have sponsored have included many mission trips to Nicaragua during the last seven years. We have also sponsored visits for people from Nicaragua to Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, and California. These bidirectional visits have enhanced the understanding among us and have cemented friendships in both countries. The scholarship programs have benefited greatly by an increased awareness of needs and aspirations of the youth. Many young people are faced with a seemingly impossible task of completion of their school because of inability to pay even the basic costs of education.
